Job Title: Bartender / Concessions Staff
Hours of work: Irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as event bookings and scheduling dictate.
Reports to: Concessions Coordinator
Position Summary:
Aultsville Theatre is seeking customer-focused and energetic Bartender / Concessions Staff to provide exceptional concessions and bar service during events. Reporting to the Concessions Coordinator, this casual, event-based position is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service while preparing and serving concession items and alcoholic beverages in compliance with all food safety, Smart Serve and AGCO requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Concessions
- Prepare and serve popcorn, snacks, candy and beverages.
- Prepare concession areas for service including stocking, cleaning and organizing displays.
- Restock products during events and report inventory shortages.
- Assist with event opening and closing procedures.
Bar Operations
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly.
- Verify identification and comply with AGCO and Smart Serve requirements.
- Monitor responsible alcohol service and refuse service when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked bar.
Cash Handling and Point of Sale
- Operate Square and other POS systems accurately.
- Process cash, debit and credit transactions.
- Balance cash floats and assist with end-of-event reconciliations.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all patrons.
- Respond professionally to guest questions and concerns.
- Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas.
- Follow Theatre health and safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Comply with food safety and liquor licensing requirements.
Employment Requirements & Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in hospitality, food service, bartending or event operations is an asset.
- Comfortable handling cash and POS systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification (or willingness to obtain before bartending shifts).
- Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
Working Conditions & Requirements
Frequent interaction with patrons, volunteers, performers and event clients.
Primarily evening and weekend work based on event schedules.
Fast-paced environment during peak service periods.
Pay rate: $20.63/hour
