A WORLD TRANSFORMED
SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 2027 – 2:00 PM
A World Transformed is a unique performance that weaves together music, dance, and spoken word to tell the stories of Matthew and Judy Shepard. Matthew was a young man from Laramie, Wyoming, who was murdered because of his sexuality, igniting a global movement for 2SLGBTQ+ rights. The musical program includes classical, musical theatre, folk, and popular genres, including the music of Britten, Tchaikovsky, and Coulthard, as well as arrangements of music by The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, and Simon and Garfunkel. A World Transformed confronts themes of bullying and discrimination, but also resilience, community perseverance, and compassion for one another, regardless of our differences.
